2011 WEST END POETS FESTIVAL

Be part of one of the most unique and largest Poetry Events! The 6th annual West End Poetry Festival will feature some of the Southeast's most talented poets while celebrating many exciting styles. Saturday October 15, 2011 at Carrboro Century Center. Admission is FREE!

Appearing: Marta Nuñez-Pouzols, Chris Slydel, Guillermo Parra, Alice Osborn, Joseph Fletcher, Ricky Garni, J. Peter Moore, Malaika King Albrecht, Jodi Barnes, Dianne Timblin, David Need, Hassan Melehy, Magdalena Zurawski, Allison Curseen, Jay Bryan, Grey Brown, Maura High, Tyler Johnson, Susan Spalt, Joanna Catherine Scott, Chris Vitiello, Laura Jaramillo, Patrick Herron, and Brian Howe.

6:00-7:15 Poets' Social With Special Guest The East Cackalacky Band
Carrboro Century Hall

Sacrificial Poets will host a youth slam at 9:15pm in conjunction with the festival. Open for ages 13-19: 3 rounds with 3:30 time limit per poem. The winner will earn a spot in the 2012 Sacrificial Poets Grand Slam Finals. Top three poets will also receive prizes.

The festival will be held for one day only on Saturday October 15, 201. The festivals mission is to promote established and aspiring writers and performers from across the state and all poetic forms. The festival's location will be at the beautiful Carrboro Century Hall.
