The West End Poets Weekend is held annually for the purpose of providing a connection between the significant poetry talent that is deeply rooted in our community and the many poetry enthusiasts that reside in the Triangle area. The weekend event wishes to recognize and reward emerging talent as well. Most importantly, The West End Poets Weekend aims to bring together all ages to read, hear and talk about the art of poetry.

YOUR INPUT IS WELCOME:
Over two and forty people come through the doors of the Century Center to hear and see the various poets and performances. The responses that was recieved from those in attendance was extremely positive. Even though, we can view the 2007 event as a successful endeavor, it is our goal to make the 2008 West End Poets Weekend bigger and better. This is where your views and opinions can help. Please let us know of anything that you would like to see at the 2008 WEPW. If you have a poet or performance in mind, drop us a line and recommend to us what you would like to see and hear. Please feel free to call or email Kim Andrews (Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department) @ 918-7364 with your comments or suggestions for this annual event OR any of the other POETRY ALIVE ! activities.
